Dreams of Sunshine and You.

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one

But here's the thing, I dreamed a dream
I dreamed a dream of the pool
and I dreamed of red hair,
[actually, I dreamed of hair in general, as usual]
and I dreamed of skylines,
and I dreamed of zebras and funny faces,
I dreamed of a blonde mane of not just hair but of her words,
she says they're gone but they aren't
and I never had any anyway, so she shouldn't worry
but here's a good vibration anyway.
I dreamed of people,
and how to let go,
and how to hold on,
and how to do everything in the middle, too.
I dreamed of pounce-ing.
I dreamed in cards, people,
I dreamed in kings and queens and aces,
and I was the little black joker,
and you were the red 8.
I dreamed of cracks;
of sidewalks and my kindle
and the sky, too;
Mostly I dreamed of you.

Remember the beauty from last post? The beauty I have?
I don't care what you believe, for all I know you have it right.
But the beauty I have in my is my little piece of God.
And the reason I know you are beautiful is because you have a piece of Him, too,
because we are actually all God and everything is God
and really God is just the energy that connects us all to each other and everything.
[it's called Pantheism.]
So sorry for when I yell at you to stop littering,
because really,
I'm just giving back.

Addy, when you find your words [they wouldn't go far]
feel free to loan some to me.

love always, laura elizabeth.

High School and Futility.

Hope Springs Eternal.

When are, when were, when will be your glory days?

Think about it.

My glory days... They started when, in that huge room with 27 different drama departments sitting on the edge of their seats (well, okay. Seven of them were on the edge of their seats. The other twenty were probably about to fall asleep), the man with the microphone said "American Fork High School" and we all stood up and screamed and Addy cried and Lone Peak clapped for us and I was a part of it. My glory days continued closing night of Footloose, when I cried because I love them all so much and because I was a part of it.

My glory days, they aren't just filled with clapping and tears, they're filled with autumn light and winter light and summer light but mostly, spring light, because that is my favorite light of all. They continue when I'm in Ballet at the barre and I feel strong and on top of the world. My glory days, more than any other, happen every day, doing all my usual pastimes and hobbies and whatever else I do, because I'm alive and these are my glory days, because even the sad days are glory days,
and I'm not so sad anymore.

love always, laura elizabeth.

Grunge.

What a word.
You don't hear "grungy" much anymore and I bet you hear "grunge" even less.
Guess who's bringing it back?
^^ I guess this Christmas we'll see who really loves me..

The funny thing about mornings is that I wake up, I just don't get up...usually until I have about five minutes left.
The funny thing about boys is that I don't understand them.  At all.  And yet, I still like them.
The funny thing about my teddy bear is that it's secretly a real person that hugs me to sleep every night.
The funny thing about math is I'm actually sometimes good at it.
The funny thing about pillows is that lately, I've been more comfortable without one.
The funny thing about Harry Potter is that he's consistently there for me.  Every time.
The funny thing about singing is that I can't.
The funny thing about my dance performance is that it's on Saturday.
The funny thing about me is that when I think, "We should just agree to disagree again" is that I really mean "She should just agree to agree.  With me."
The funny thing about owls is that I LOVE THEM.
The funny thing about taco bell is that I haven't had it in far too long.
The funny thing about homework is that I actually don't hate it, I just hate the time it consumes.  We only get the one life, you know.
The funny thing about Teddy is that I think I might be starting to like him...gug.
The funny thing about birthday parties is that I always feel obligated to bring a present.
The funny thing about weekends is that for the past many, I've almost always had great plans with great people...Like I'm some sort of socially awkward butterfly.
The funny thing about toenails is that once one finally grows back to a decent state, the other one begins to bruise.  And you get blisters on your toes that bleed all over your toe pads.
The funny thing about dance is that it's physically a sport but emotionally an art.
The funny thing about life is that it won't wait and let you sort through the jumbled mess of your emotions.  It just keeps going endlessly-for the time being, anyway-on.  You don't get a chance to catch your breath or really think about what's happening.  Lately, for me, that's been sort of a blessing.

love always, laura.
I don't care what you say- except I do because it hurts me when you tell me the love of my life doesn't match your standards of physically challenging.  But how often do you have to suffer through extreme tests of endurance while putting on a pretty face and making it all look good?  Please don't feel like I'm attacking your sport, because I am absolutely not; besides, we've already cleared up that it would never be possible for me to even try it.  I just want you to respect my passion and if you still have a different opinion about Ballet, please just keep it to yourself.  It's better for both of us in the long run.

Fluffy.

Once upon a time, there was a lonely old lady named Laura.

She lived a sad, lonely life, living in a little house. Alone.

Then one day [actually, three separate days in September],

three lovely cats were born and moved into her life

and her life wasn't lonely anymore.

Their names were Janessa, Stevie, and Kelsey.

The end.

So, maybe it doesn't make sense.  That's okay.
Happy September birthdays.  Sorry this post isn't split into three
and personal
and actually...good posts.
And sorry those hypothetical three posts
weren't posted on the actual birthdays.
And sorry I compared you to cats.
But I really like cats and I really like you guys
so I thought it worked.
Thanks for putting up with my crazy, you guys.
I dunno who would if you didn't.

Also, once upon two o'clock today,
we got a little kitten.
He's probably the cutest thing on the planet, currently.
I've personally named him fluffy,
after the three headed dog.

love, laura.

Regret is knowing of your mistakes.

Being taught a lesson in humility by yourself is always a refreshing, if regretful experience.

I just miss my best friends and I feel like I've done wrong by everyone I know,
I just want to feel like I did something right and
that someone is happy because of me
but  mostly
I just want to be held again...
I risked all the progress I made
and have nothing to show for it now
except my regrets

Persistence is trying to get a return letter from someone.

So, I know this girl named Addy who has a few of her professional pictures of her family up on her blog and I remembered that she's gorgeous and so I tried to text her and tell her that but then AT&T told me that the subscriber could not be reached.  So I figured, why not say it publicly?  Also, her blog is probably the best thing ever, so go follow that link.  I hope she knows how much I look up to her, even though usually I think she forgets about my existance.

Also, Addy?  You really need to send me a letter.

Come to my show, all.

love, laura.

ps. She has 85 followers.  You know.  No big deal or anything.

Love is being fearless.

We've all been there.

We've all had those moments where we feel
like we aren't good enough
like we aren't beautiful
like we'll never be loved.

We've all wondered if there really is a guy out there
that will be a perfect match.

We've all regretted.
We've all hurt.
We've all cried.

We all have feelings.

Treat no one otherwise.

Everyone deserves love.
Everyone deserves happiness.
Everyone deserves friendship.

Treat no one otherwise.

And I don't know why,
but with you'd I'd dance
in a storm in my
best dress

love laura

Happiness is finding a random message on your phone that says you're amazing from a truly wonderful friend. ....and taco bell.

The little ways my dear friend Kelsey [at least, that's who I think it's from] shows me what she thinks of our friendship warm my heart and make me smile.  Take a moment and share in the happiness that you have friends that care about you like I doubtlessly do.

Anyway. . .

I decided I will write something similar to what I wrote last year.  I thought I'd tell all y'all in case you ever wanted to ask me if you could read it.  The differences will definitely be great-for instance, I doubt this one will mainly be about blaze and how he made last summer a soap opera.  We'll see what happens.

My aspirations to write every night quickly pummelled into the ground. Ehhh.  So did my hopes of not sleeping past ten this summer.  I think it's justifiable to sleep till noon if you can't get to sleep until three, though...right?

some are bright,
some dark.
some flutter,
some sink to my feet.

these butterflies
you give to me
that i am aware of every time
i see you
or you text first
they don't let me forget.

some remind me that
we could be the best pair there's
 ever been.
others remind me of the
low chance of it happening.

sometimes, they jump into my throat
immediately obstructing any sound or word
i wished to say.
sometimes, they pull my heart down to my toes
when i see your name on my phone.
sometimes, they take control of my fingertips
forcefully attempting to get my feelings across
to you, in the medium of text.

i manage to stop that just in time, though.

they tug on the corners of my mouth up
when you say a trademarkedly sweet thing to me
they tug on the convers of my mouth down
when i look at my phone and see that approximately
two hours and forty three minutes have gone by
with you clearly not remembering my existence.

these butterflies,
they think they have
my crush in the bag
they whisper hopes and doubts
in the dark of night

these butterflies,
they wonder
if they have friends
in you, as well

you give me butterflies...
do i,
possibly,
maybe,
hopefully
give you some too?

love, laura
