Tie Dye.

So, whatever, one of the best nights of my life, NBD.
Addy: "Just make out already!"
(x100000000000000)

And right now, I'm just glad there are a million pictures of everything in the world.
Maybe not of Taft and me, last night, dancing and living,
but of things like cats in top hats and shoes.
I'm glad there are a million songs waiting to be discovered,
especially if you discover them on a cd from a good friend.
I'm glad there are a million flowers to be smelled,
and trees to be climbed,
and stars to count,
and pinteresting things to make,

and I'm especially glad there are a million people I've met,
a million people I know,
and a million people waiting for me in the next million tomorrows.

go dancing.
love always, laura elizabeth.

So it's been two weeks. My bad.

Maybe the apocalypse has already happened,
and we're all already zombies.

Fight the norm.

What's funny about life is that the more that happens, the less time you have to write about it.
These past two weeks have been full to the brim, and incredible, and difficult, and incredible.
I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Once I upload more of my pictures from my camera onto my computer, I'll do a post of pictures. They aren't my usual well-taken with a photographer's eye pictures, but they're pictures that help depict what's been happening. So cool.

I'm sick. This is my second day home from school. I'm sick.

I've realized, that he loves me, he loves me the way he loves, not the way I was taught is love, and that almost makes it more real. He loves me. He loves me, he cares for me, I love him, I care for him so much.

We aren't going to sadies together, but actually I'm okay with it. Mostly because I know I'll still have a fantastic time, with my best friends and some of my lone peak boys. I've already asked Kevin, who I adore. I helped Kelsey ask Ryan--I'll put those pictures up too. It's incredibly awesome. It was also my idea.

I love Footloose. I love Footloose more than anything, I love it, I love it. I love dance, I love my dance classes, I love our dances, I love our theme, I love the contemporary. Now if only I weren't missing both these past two days due to whatever my body thinks it's doing. Last night, in my delirious stage, a thought struck me, "the only thing my body is working together on is making sure I'm as uncomfortable as possible," which is pretty true, I didn't have a very great night. But today is better and tomorrow will be best. Actually, Friday will be best. Sushi date. yikes yay we'll see.

So, sorry this isn't my usual writing, this is more blunt and less poetic. But honestly, I can't really think, so I think it's already impressive that I'm able to type. I'll see the world tomorrow.

love always, laura elizabeth.

p.s. thanks for being upset when I don't post for a while, Chloe. It makes me feel very important.

Once Upon an Eleven-Eleven

While doing research for a journalism article, I came across the following terms:

Sport: an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

Athletic: physically active and strong; of or pertaining to athletes;  involving the use of physical skills or capabilities, as strength, agility, or stamina.
Athletes:  a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill.
*the following definitions came from Dictionary.com

In other news...

I don't think I've ever wanted anything more than this.

Except, of course, world peace and an end to famine.

love always, laura elizabeth.

Grunge.

What a word.
You don't hear "grungy" much anymore and I bet you hear "grunge" even less.
Guess who's bringing it back?
^^ I guess this Christmas we'll see who really loves me..

The funny thing about mornings is that I wake up, I just don't get up...usually until I have about five minutes left.
The funny thing about boys is that I don't understand them.  At all.  And yet, I still like them.
The funny thing about my teddy bear is that it's secretly a real person that hugs me to sleep every night.
The funny thing about math is I'm actually sometimes good at it.
The funny thing about pillows is that lately, I've been more comfortable without one.
The funny thing about Harry Potter is that he's consistently there for me.  Every time.
The funny thing about singing is that I can't.
The funny thing about my dance performance is that it's on Saturday.
The funny thing about me is that when I think, "We should just agree to disagree again" is that I really mean "She should just agree to agree.  With me."
The funny thing about owls is that I LOVE THEM.
The funny thing about taco bell is that I haven't had it in far too long.
The funny thing about homework is that I actually don't hate it, I just hate the time it consumes.  We only get the one life, you know.
The funny thing about Teddy is that I think I might be starting to like him...gug.
The funny thing about birthday parties is that I always feel obligated to bring a present.
The funny thing about weekends is that for the past many, I've almost always had great plans with great people...Like I'm some sort of socially awkward butterfly.
The funny thing about toenails is that once one finally grows back to a decent state, the other one begins to bruise.  And you get blisters on your toes that bleed all over your toe pads.
The funny thing about dance is that it's physically a sport but emotionally an art.
The funny thing about life is that it won't wait and let you sort through the jumbled mess of your emotions.  It just keeps going endlessly-for the time being, anyway-on.  You don't get a chance to catch your breath or really think about what's happening.  Lately, for me, that's been sort of a blessing.

love always, laura.
I don't care what you say- except I do because it hurts me when you tell me the love of my life doesn't match your standards of physically challenging.  But how often do you have to suffer through extreme tests of endurance while putting on a pretty face and making it all look good?  Please don't feel like I'm attacking your sport, because I am absolutely not; besides, we've already cleared up that it would never be possible for me to even try it.  I just want you to respect my passion and if you still have a different opinion about Ballet, please just keep it to yourself.  It's better for both of us in the long run.

Dance is eternal heaven.

Dance is everything.

Everything is dance.

Play on words,
jumping back and forth
is dance.

My feelings are dance.
Your smile is dance.
The ocean is dance.

The world is dance,
Dance is the world.

Dance is children's laughter
and poetry.

Dance is everything;
Dance is words
and feelings
and thoughts
and people.

Dance is it all;
Dance is physical
and mental
and emotional.

Dance is the comforting hand
of your mother
when she heard you cry in the night.
Dance is the tears that flow in silence.

Dance is the eyes
connecting carefully
and the lips
brushing softly.

Dance is the paint on the walls
and the grass under your feet
and the sky above your head
and the air that you breathe.

Dance is the sun
and the moon, and the stars
and the dreamcatcher
above your pillow.

Dance is the books you read
and the kites flying high
and the faces of your friends
and the shoes that you tie.

Dance is summer
and winter
and spring
and fall.

Dance is the other side of your pillow
and the last petal of a sunflower.
Dance is the eyelash
on your cheek.

Dancers laugh
dancers sigh
dancers smile
dancers cry.

We are all dancers.

Dance is life,
and life is dance.
danser est vivre,
et vivre est danser.

Love, Laura.

Danser est Vivre.

You disrespect dance, you disrespect me.

Warning [may occur when you disrespect dance]: A sudden foot in the face.

Dance is what I live for.

It takes watching dance to remind me why I'm here.  It takes dancing to remind everyone else why I'm here.  I am not the best, but I am not the worst.
And someday I hope to inspire others like the dancers I've seen tonight-
SYTYCD, EVERYONE!! IT'S BACK!!
-to remember why they live too.

You can't describe that fierce passion you get, deep in your chest
where they tell you the heart is
when you dance.  You can't full explain
the love between those blessed people
that have dance in their lives, but let me try.

The connection between a dancer and dance is as indescribable as that of which a mother to a child.  It connects on so many levels; physical, of course, but emotional, spiritual, mental as well.  To dance, you must have soul, you must have spirit and so much heart.  Dancing is so much more than flailing limbs and muscule strength and the ability to remember a combination; it's connecting to something that not everyone can tap.  It's connecting to something otherworldly, and yet, it is contained deep within us.  One of the biggest differences between a dancer and someone moving in rhythm is that you have to love what you do.  If you dance, if you truly love it, it doesn't matter how long you've been dancing, or how flexible or skinny you are, you are a dancer.  Dancing takes incredible strength.  The strength to endure throughout intense physical pain, the strength to endure throughout intense emotional pain.  I can't tell you how often I've cried, either in class or at home, because I don't feel like I can do something, because someone else makes it look so easy.  But all dancers have felt that.  It's normal and natural and it's part of building us up to be the best dancers we can be.  I don't know how often I've endured small injuries-whether it be a torn off toenail or a twisted ankle-and had to keep going.  Because if you injure yourself before a performance, you still have to go on.  If you injure yourself on stage, you can't let it show.  You must keep smiling and finish the performance as though nothing happened.  In a sport game, if you get injured, you usually get a substitute; if anything, you get a few minutes to regain yourself and finish out the game.  But in dance, there is no time to let yourself be weak.

So to those who say dance isn't a sport, fine.  You're right.  Dance is much harder than a sport because not only does it include the physicality of sports, it adds in emotional.  It adds in art.  Dance is not just a sport, or an art, it is a beautiful mixture of both.  And you will not find anything better than the combination of those two bases.

Miss Dani:  We will be getting together soon.

Love, Laura.

P.S.  I'm not kidding about the foot in the face, people.  I don't care if you don't like dance; around me, you better at least respect it.

Because we're Awesome and We are Dancers.

Dance is the best feeling in the world.  Dance is the best thing in my life.  Without it I'd be some uninspired and fat bum.  It's the best thing when I find someone who shares the passion just as fully with me.

Love, StarFish.
